I kinda suck at social media lately, and I'm sorry. :/ I think I've officially failed at my New Year's resolution to post here more often, even absolving myself of that whole land-of-no-Internet period. I HAVE TO GET BETTER AT THIS.

Things that are going on:

- Today I am relistening to old episodes of Animorphs: The Radio Drama (Uncensored!) because there are no new episodes because I feel like it. It's been a while. I'd almost forgotten how much I love these guys. I now kind of want to listen to them read one of the books while I follow along and annotate an e-book copy with their comments, but on the other hand that sounds like a lot of work for someone as lazy as me.

- Yuletide nominations start soon, and I am, indeed, planning to participate in Yuletide for the second time and nominations for the first time; SUPER EXCITING. (I may also have failed my write-more-fic resolution for the year. I don't remember what the exact wording of it was. But it hasn't exactly been a banner year for productivity.)

- It's almost time for first-run TV shows to come back! According to the app I depend on to tell me these things, Sleepy Hollow premieres in a week, Castle comes back in two weeks, Elementary comes back three days later, Once Upon A Time returns three days after that, and then a bit later Once Upon A Time In Wonderland and Almost Human premiere. So. That should give me stuff to post about. (Fingers crossed for greatness. Three new shows is a lot for me to try picking up at once; hopefully at least one hooks me, although it would be super awesome if they all do.) (Other new shows I am vaguely planning to try: Star-Crossed on the CW, because Robert Hewitt Wolfe on staff, and Girl Meets Boy, because Boy Meets World sequel, but I don't know when either one of them premieres). I am also super excited about spoilers I've seen for Elementary and Once Upon A Time; haven't seen spoilers for Castle, but fingers crossed there, too.

- It's still almost two months until NaNoWriMo but I'm getting nervous about it already. I have the bare bones of an idea and slightly more development on the two main characters; I keep poking at it and mostly coming up with things that aren't going to be useful (if they ever are) until I'm well into Plot.

- I am super behind on the marathoning-old-shows-that-are-new-to-me project (specifically HIMYM at the moment); for various personal reasons I kind of just lost momentum and haven't gotten back to it. I need to do that. That was a New Year's resolution, too. I need to accomplish at least a few of these things.

- In personal news, I'm still unemployed but have resumed trying to learn how to drive. So. Maybe that will be helpful.

- I apologize for the length of this post.

I kind of want to make a fanvid set to a Volapük track, but since the only idea I have is 'huh, it would be kind of cool to make a fanvid set to a Volapük track' and not, you know, a story idea or a concept or even a fandom, it probably won't happen.

It would be kind of cool, though.

I need a project I can focus on for a while. Are there any interesting thirty-day memes going around?

I was trying to study for my GRE but kept getting frustrated by the math section because NUMBERS ARE EVIL. So I took a break and did a bunch of online personality quizzes instead!

Which Doctor Who Character Are You?
Martha Jones You are an analytical and intelligent person. You are always excited by the prospect of a new adventure, although might not be so pleased about the consequences resulting from the adventure. Although you may get annoyed by your family, you will always love and stand by them, no matter what. You would travel to the ends of the earth just to make sure people were okay, and would never abandon your friends. You are Martha Jones.

Day 26 ♥ Your week, in great detail

...really? Let's see how much I remember:

Monday - I had a phone interview for a job. It was anticlimatic. Nevertheless I spent the rest of the day recovering from it.
Tuesday - It was my dad's birthday. I made a cake. It fell apart. My mom and I went up to the grocery store and got a storebought replacement. However after dinner we wound up eating the cake I made instead because despite having fallen apart it was still a lot yummier than the store-bought one. Also, 'What They Died For' aired that night.
Wednesday - spent it with teh Niki. She had a jewelry party. I think she only invited me because she needed another warm body there.
Thursday - ...I don't remember doing anything of note.
Friday - Again, I don't remember doing anything of note. I think I watched last week's 'Glee' then, but aside from that...nada.
Saturday - ...nothing. Are you getting the picture? :| I watched 'The Hungry Earth'. I think that was it.
Sunday - the big LOST series finale day. It was stressful. See yesterday's entries for details.
Monday (today) - I...did laundry?

YOU GUYS. I have the most boring life in existence. I'm pretty sure the next two days of this meme are only going to drive that point home even more for you.

Posting this now because I have strong feelings I will not be thinking coherently enough to post it after tonight's big TV event.

Day 25 ♥ Your day, in great detail

Ahaha. Well. I got up, I took a shower, I checked my e-mail and flist, I had lunch. Then there was a storm so I shut Sally down and read for a while. (This may have been a good decision; we lost power for a while.) I reinstalled Ad-Aware because my existing installation wouldn't update and then ran a scan. While that was happening, my dad decided to drive up to 7-11; I went with him and got a Sprite and a Reese's Dark. We drove down to the waterfront, but there was nothing going on there, so we came home. By this point my scan had ended, so I went to Hulu and watched the LOST enhanced pilot. Then I fed the cat, did a little more reading, made a new desktop background, was updated on news about my sister, and now I'm posting this.

Hey, you asked for detail.

At 7 I'm going to watch the LOST recap special, at 9 I'm going to watch the LOST series finale, and at 11:30 I'm going to cry like a small child deprived of a favorite stuffed animal.

I AM NOT READY.

* I finally managed to sit down and watch Being Human yesterday. ♥ What an awesome and epic episode. And I loved it and I had things to say about it and this is why I should do reaction posts immediately after watching because I forget stuff. BUT brief capslocky thoughts ) So yeah, epic and awesome and ohhh.

* So I was poking around Lost-Media's photo gallery, as you do, and stumbled upon this S4 promo picture which I had never seen before which is clearly a grievous error on my part because I love it. Is there a higher-res version anywhere, does anyone know? LM doesn't usually fail me on high-res promo pics but they're letting me down now.

* I need to actually do stuff so that I can have stuff to talk about here. *sadface*

Okay, so maybe I've been listening to Love Again on repeat far too much. IT IS A VERY CATCHY SONG. And maybe I have in fact despite my better intentions started making a DW vid to it. (If it turns out too similar to Forever, pssh, I just won't show it to anybody else then. Like when I make vids that suck. Easy solution!)

Today our landlords sent a handyman over to fix various stuff around the house that is Not Working, which regrettably meant that I had to, like, interact and talk to people and stuff like that. D: And will have to do it some more tomorrow because the bathroom sinks aren't fixed yet and need special equipment or something. But! The front door lock is working correctly now and the upstairs bathroom door closes properly and those are both positives, so, maybe it balances out?

...my asocial tendencies, let me show you them.

Otherwise, I've been mostly just playing MarioKart DS all day. Ohgodiamsoboring.

Today I:

- Did laundry. Boring but necessary.

- Listened to Endway's new album three times so far. [/is pathetic] I'm not sure how I feel about "Hold Me Down" yet, but they reworked "Airplane" and "My Life" from their second album and the new arrangements are even more awesome, and "Wine, Women & Cheese" is gorgeous, and I seriously, seriously love "Love Again". I kind of want to make a Doctor Who vid to it, except I realize that thematically it would be exactly the same as my "This Town Forever" vid, so, probably not.

- Watched the new Being Human. All I can say is OMG EPIC I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH OMG SO GLAD IT'S BACK. Can't believe how long I put off getting into it because I LOVE IT.

- Deleted all my icons and reuploaded them from scratch. Uh. [/is pathetic some more] A bunch survived the change, albeit with massively changed keywords for most of them so my old icons are probably almost all broked. A bunch more didn't survive the change, of course. Also I now have twenty free icon slots, which is a bewildering amount of freedom.

...does that count as 'accomplished'?

I just spent a ridiculous amount of time overhauling the tag system for [livejournal.com profile] fandomfrom3. The upshot is that it's way more organized now (and, for instance, there are now separate tags for Charlie Pace and Charlie Hume, which there weren't before). On the other hand it took for-freaking-ever and I don't think anybody but me will care.

Also, I realized that it was something like two and a half years ago that I promised to write The Trial Of Brendan Lahey. Oh, wow, I suck so much.

The Artist Arena refund finally arrived in my bank account, and I activated my new bank card, and I sent out a few more resumes into the ether. I have the most boring life everrrr, omg.

[title of show] coming to Arizona! I wish I lived in Arizona. Not really, but I'd like to see this.

Today my dad and I went out in search of a way to kill time, and I elected to try to hunt down Titus Andronicus's The Airing of Grievances, which my Google Alerts keeps telling me I should check out because apparently they're very heavily influenced by the Pogues. Because I live in the middle of freakin' nowhere, I did not have high hopes for this quest; there were basically three major places to check.

Store 1 used to have it but sold out of their stock and had no intention of restocking. Did I want to special order it through them? I said thanks but no thanks and moved on.

Store 2 had never carried it and had no intention of ever carrying it. But I could special order it through them, did I want to do that? No, thank you. Kept looking.

Store 3 did not have it. They were crowded so I did not stick around to ask if they were ever going to carry it, or to hear them ask if I wanted to special order it through them.

Quest of the day was a failure. However, I did walk away with RENT: Filmed Live On Broadway on DVD, Anthony Rapp's Without You, and a chocolate-themed calendar. And when I got home I hopped on iTunes and bought The Airing of Grievances for $10 and am currently copying it to my iTunes for a listen. Quest of the day may have been a failure, but the day itself was a success!

Not Eleventh Doctor related!

Today I:

- made a cake. It is currently in the oven, baking. I am very happy about this as it means I get cake.
- redid my resume and now have people looking it over before I send it off into the get-me-a-decent-job ether.
- received "tick tick...BOOM!" and the Dresden Files graphic novel in the mail.

And very little else. I lead an exceedingly dull live.

Anyway, despite the brief excitement in DW fandom over causing drama due to the casting announcement, pretty much all my fandoms are currently in hiatus and I'm kind of going into fannish withdrawal. So: recs, pretty please? Fics, vids, shiny graphics, whatever -- any of my fandoms. And that's an awful lot to choose from. Just rec me fannish stuff!

(Also, exciting only to my bizarrely warped mind: the list of songs in my iTunes library that has a playcount of less than one is now under 7 gigs! I'm getting closer to my goal of having a recorded listen of at least once for all my music!)
