Today my dad and I went out in search of a way to kill time, and I elected to try to hunt down Titus Andronicus's The Airing of Grievances, which my Google Alerts keeps telling me I should check out because apparently they're very heavily influenced by the Pogues. Because I live in the middle of freakin' nowhere, I did not have high hopes for this quest; there were basically three major places to check.
Store 1 used to have it but sold out of their stock and had no intention of restocking. Did I want to special order it through them? I said thanks but no thanks and moved on.
Store 2 had never carried it and had no intention of ever carrying it. But I could special order it through them, did I want to do that? No, thank you. Kept looking.
Store 3 did not have it. They were crowded so I did not stick around to ask if they were ever going to carry it, or to hear them ask if I wanted to special order it through them.
Quest of the day was a failure. However, I did walk away with RENT: Filmed Live On Broadway on DVD, Anthony Rapp's Without You, and a chocolate-themed calendar. And when I got home I hopped on iTunes and bought The Airing of Grievances for $10 and am currently copying it to my iTunes for a listen. Quest of the day may have been a failure, but the day itself was a success!
...I am so boring.
