So I have suddenly and with absolutely no warning found myself in love with Volapük. Any chance anyone on my flist is also familiar with them and can possibly recommend me other chamber rock bands to explore?


In other news, my big sis and bb!nephew are here for a week to visit! SO EXCITING. He's grown so much since the last time I saw him, he can sit up on his own and everything!

I just realized I totally failed to pimp this news out here, and now I am properly ashamed of myself.

Official details on the Animorphs relaunch! Includes an (way-too-fast) animation of what the lenticular cover of book #1 looks like!

SO EXCITING, OMG.

Also, Hirac Delest broke down the animation into its constituent frames so you can actually, y'know, see stuff, and I approve of the new Jake model. His coloring is fairer than the Jake in my head but he has a Responsible Chin and that is clearly the important part. Now I just need to see the models for the rest of the kids...

There's about a ~500 word discrepancy between NaNo's word counter and Microsoft Word's, which is throwing me off a bit. But it's in my favor, NaNo's giving me a higher count than Word is, so I'm not complaining.

I'm going to try to get a little further tonight because I'm really afraid I'm not going to get any writing done tomorrow and this being ahead thing rocks so I don't want to fall significantly behind.



In non-NaNo news: OMG Doctor Who Christmas trailer! OMG YAY I MISSED YOU GUYS. Still over a month to go before the actual episode, of course, which is really sad because it looks amazing. *wants. a lot.*

Coming down with a cold, booo, and it's making me grumpy and lazy. Please don't point out that it would be hard to make me lazier than I usually am. I hate transition seasons.

Um.

Anyway.

Yesterday's dental work went okay. No more traumatic than usual.

My new love affair with Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson continues. Possibly I spent a significant chunk of today transcribing lyrics just to have them. (Although speaking of lyrics, if there are any other BBAJ fans reading this, in "The Corrupt Bargain", what's the line about James Madison? 'James Madison said something [something] 'bout this/But he was kind of a dick" and I can't quite make it out and arrrgh it is frustrating me.)

Anyway the 2011 Tonys are going to be so much more awesome than this past year's was. ...although I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment, aren't I? All the shows I'm rooting for this season are going to be overlooked for shows I don't care about, aren't they? ...on the other hand, I feel like there are enough new shows this season that I'm rooting for that at least one of them has to be nominated for something. Possibly even win!

(Maybe I hope BBAJ gets nominated just so I can see Ben Walker and his skintight jeans rocking the awards ceremony. Don't judge me too harshly?)

Anyway. BBAJ is the only one that's opened so far that I'm rooting for, but we still have Wonderland, Yank!, and Catch Me If You Can to go. Plus the Anything Goes revival. It's gonna be a good season.

(Yank! is still planning to open this season, isn't it? I can't find any dates confirming that. Plenty confirming that it will be opening on Broadway but no dates. :|)

IDK IDK. It's not like it would be hard for the 2011 Tony Awards to beat out 2010. *is not still bitter* I don't even know why I'm thinking about them this early in the season.

My LOST S6 DVDs arrived! \o/ Earlier than expected, yayyy!

So of course I immediately went for the last disc to watch the bonus features, because I'm me, and oh. Oh Malcolm David Kelly. Why must you make me feel so old. I remember when you were little and adorable and now you're All Grown Up.

Also, The New Man In Charge jossed some of my headcanon re: Walt but that's okay I can make new headcanon. (It also made me sad re: Walt, but imagining stuff that happens After is cheering.)

Anyway now I'm watching all of S6 in order with stops for audio commentaries. Yay.

Finally (finally!) earned enough Amazon gift cards to be able to buy the LOST S6 DVDs. Yay! Now I just have to wait for them to get here. Trying to decided if I want to immediately do a full series rewatch or rewatch S6 now and then do the full series later. Probably will do S6 now, as I am a sucker for instant gratification.

Meanwhile, I have to figure out who I'm going to get to write me letters of recommendation and also write a statement of purpose (??) and also contact my last colleges for transcripts for my grad school app. Woo.
