I just need to say, the existence of this video in the world makes me absurdly happy. Thank you, TV Tropes, for linking me to awesome things.

Word count: 37705. 75% done!

Hoping to hit 40000 tomorrow. If I do, then I refuse to allow myself to feel guilty should I fail to write anything on the drive up to New York.

It's looking like Mila and Nalini are going to put the Big Plan in action around the 40,000-mark, anyway. They're beta testing it now. I'm not sure the actual execution of the Plan will take anywhere near 10,000 words, but we'll see. If nothing else, I can resort in my desperation to Ending Fatigue to pad my count, IDK IDK. Too soon to tell? Possibly I should have had an actual plan for the plot before I started, but it's far too late now.

Doctor Who is filming in the States right now and I am in entirely the wrong part of the country, dammit. D: D: D:
chicafrom3: photo of the TARDIS (tv: p: gus&shawn)
Most of my word count yesterday came from Nalini giving Mila a big, dramatic, The Reason You Suck Speech, and now they're not really talking to each other and I'm having so much trouble getting anything to happen today. :| COME ON, NALINI, YOU WANTED TO BE A MAIN CHARACTER, NOW COOPERATE.

Also I'm watching Psych while trying to write. That's probably not helping my wordcount, either. spoilers for the return of Psych )

‘It’s the Law of Conservation of Niceness,’ he said. ‘It’s a fundamental principle of the universe, like Schrodinger’s cat or Heisenberg’s knickers.’ He twirled the chocolate bar in his fingers. ‘The Doctor’s always got to have someone around who can be fluffy and sympathetic. With your alter ego gone, for the safety of the cosmos, I have to make the supreme sacrifice. Give up smoking. And practise saying “Gosh wow!”

Day 25 ♥ Favorite Who Actor

The Black Donnellys didn't have a TVTropes page and that made me sad so now it does.

I'm sure I've missed stuff.

Meme, continued:
Day 08 ♥ A photo that makes you angry/sad

Photo taken (not by me) at a same-sex marriage demonstration in Boston years ago. If it's not easily readable, his sign says: "The Bible is sacred, not a tool for discrimination."

As a Catholic-identified supporter of civil rights of all kinds (love thy neighbor, yo!) it just makes me really sad that this has to be said, that there are people who will use their religion as an excuse to hate other people.

(Although, the number of signs at that protest identifying their bearers or their bearers' families as Catholic and in favor of gay rights and same-sex marriage warm my heart.)

*flashes peace sign* Make love!

chicafrom3: photo of the TARDIS (xkcd - plead the third)
So is everybody reading this week's xkcd series? Because if not you should be. Because it's AWESOME.

More to the point, does anybody know if Nathan Fillion is reading it? I know somebody on the RSS feed claimed to have tweeted him a link, but I don't know if he actually saw said link or is reading it. If not he should be.

Also, "no, that's the opposite of true" and "things are rarely just crazy enough to work, but they're frequently just crazy enough to fail hilariously" are awesome lines and I'm going to be stealing borrowing at least the first for my Better Than It Sounds 'verse because it's exactly the sort of thing Liam would say to Kyle.

Speaking of.

cut 'cause it's long and probably not of interest; rambling about worldbuilding and original fiction and why I rarely have any actual writing to show for the hours I spend on it )

LOST 5x14 The Variable: wherein everything goes downhill )

Weirdly, I have difficulty remembering that Charlie is younger than Aaron. There's no reason for this. Aaron's been around as a character longer, we've seen him being older than Charlie, we've seen them both being born, they drop ages often enough. There's no reason for this mental confusion, but I do have to keep stopping and reminding myself that, oh yes, Aaron's older than Charlie. IDK.

We can has LOST tiems agin nao?

The Massive iTunes Transfer is done and working fine. Playcounts intact. Woohoo! Now I just need to get around to updating (and probably overhauling) my trades list. (Has anyone on my flist ever used Weebly? Is it any good? Are there any other good free alternatives to freewebs? I'm considering moving because I'd like to have a little more flexibility with my site.)

In the meantime I'm trapped in TV Tropes which is never a good thing. (The fictional geek-rock band that forms an important corner of one of my original 'verses has just been renamed from "Xanatos Roulette" to "A Good Name For A Rock Band". This is not my fault!)

Doing laundry, which is boring.

Yesterday was International Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Day, which I somehow managed to miss, so, uh, a belated happy IPSTPD to you all!
