Fun with language! I had a discussion yesterday with a friend about the proper spelling of 'Wookiee', and why 'Kashyyyk' is grammatically correct.

Well, it's not in our language. But I can accept it because it must be grammatically correct in its own language.

Is it the triple vowel bit we're discussing?

Because I know Dutch uses triple vowels sometimes. Although not usually (ever?) the same vowel, so maybe that's not actually applicable. I think Portuguese does the same thing sometimes, although again not usually the same vowel.

Um. I think my point was: different languages have different rules, so I can totally accept that Wookiee language allows for three 'y's in a row.

...if we're not discussing the triple vowel, then ignore this comment and enlighten me.

It is the triple y, yes. I don't know about Dutch, but Spanish often has three vowels in a row, but not the same ones.
