For some unknown reason I've started poking at the genderswapped Andromeda 'verse again. I have a burning desire to write fic set in that verse and a total lack of focus to make it happen. ...although I do now have way too many notes on the worldbuidling, including an episode-by-episode breakdown of the differences from canon!verse.

Would anyone be willing to be a sort of pre-beta-beta-reader? (Would that be an alpha reader?) Or a sounding board, I guess would be the other fitting term ... Just look over my notes and talk about it with me and work out some of the rougher edges and say "No, Chica, that bit's stupid" and either help me figure out an angle to take writing fic or else help me drop the 'verse for the time being?

Yes, these are the kinds of problems that occupy my head.

Because there is clearly something wrong with me, I decided to delete all my icons and reupload them from scratch, so I could weed out icons I don't use and get some new ones in rotation and also get them all in a decent order.

Apparently it takes quite a while to upload ~380 icons, who guessed.

Now I am finally done, it is 3AM, and I am going to bed.

...I wonder how long they'll stay organized...

I managed to do a little Rift stuff, but not as much as I want to. What I have failed to do, along with that: write up a bio for my new job (no more than 125 words, and that's all the guideline they gave me WTF I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR I HATE WRITING BIOS); answer a couple outstanding e-mails; upload and post picspams from that meme a few posts back; other Rift stuff. But I can't brain properly for any of it, which is frustrating.

It probably doesn't help that the Internet spent part of the day being broken. But honestly I likely still wouldn't have gotten anything done if it hadn't been.

(I did, however, mount a bunch of my posters and autographed pictures on cardboard and finally get around to hanging them in my room. LAZY FOR THE WIN. I also hurt my thumb somehow while doing it. I DON'T KNOW.)

iTunes has been consolidating my library for something like 24 hours now. It is still not done. It looks like it'll be done by late tonight, though.

Also, this is depressing the hell out of me. Why does NBC hate me? WHY?

My Internet decided to spend most of the day on strike, it was terribly irritating. :(

(Okay, there was an outage somewhere in the area and it wasn't just my Internet. But still. Why would you take an addict's Internet away? Whyyy?)

Um. I'm sort of a loser, you may have noticed.

fandomsecrets is pissing me off tonight. :/ There was a RENT secret, and it inspired a host of annoying-to-me comments from people who've never seen the show or movie, people who've seen the show or movie once and apparently didn't absorb anything beyond the music, and people who claim to be RENT fans but still get basic facts wrong, and I just kind of want to yell at them all that, no, none of the characters claim that it's a Moral Outrage to ask artists to pay their rent, and, oh yes, most of the main characters have jobs. 'Real' jobs, even.

Also, I want to know where this perception that RENT is about a bunch of whiny artists who think they should be exempt from paying rent or working real jobs comes from. Because it's so obviously not.


There's no real reason this should be irritating me so much. :( In related but cheerier news, today I listened to an audio of Robin de Jesus playing Angel, the first time I had heard such a thing, and I'm so in love with him it's ridiculous. <3

* If anyone has ever doubted that I'm a packrat...well, I have two 250gb external hard drives, and as of yesterday I kind of really need a third, because one is Absolutely Full and the other one is Well I Guess I Could Fit A Little More But Don't Push It. Also I kind of can't really justify buying a third until someone actually hires me or I find a really cheap decent one.

* On the topic of jobs, I sent my resume out to those jobs I thought I might possibly be qualified for. Haven't heard anything back yet, but it's still soon. Still looking for other jobs I might possibly be qualified for. Teh Niki wants me to apply at the Norva, which would be cool but I can't seem to find a place to send my resume to.

* I lost most of yesterday to TVTropes and still have it open in a tab. Why is this site so horribly addictive?

* The BBC is looking for a new Doctor Who producer. Do you think they'd hire me? You know, despite my being American and having no experience whatsoever? Because that would be AWESOME.

* LOST premiers this Wednesday! Next-to-last season. We're coming up on the endgame, guys. ...look, I'm not thrilled that most of my favorite characters are dead, but I've still got Hurley and Sun and Desmond and Penny and Daniel and Miles to invest in, okay?

* Hoshit. I just went to the LOST Wikipedia page to make sure I was right about that next-to-last season thing and out of curiosity clicked on the "characters of Lost" link. ...skipping past "Oceanic 6", when you go to the "Other main Oceanic 815 crash survivors", you have to go seven characters down before you find one that isn't dead. *flail* Writers, come on.

* Draft one of that Harper vid is done! I already can see some things that I know I want to change, but I'm letting it sit for a couple days before I do draft two, so I can come at it fresh.

So, yeah, remember that whole "stuck at work 'til the dance company finishes" thing? Yeah. So after I finished locking up for Nutcracker (at about 9:30) I asked them -- very nicely -- to let me know when they were done, so I could lock up after them and leave myself. They acquiesced.

At eleven, not having heard anything from them, I decided to go check on them, and discovered the Black Box dark and the girls vacated. Without having said a word to me, obviously, and I have no idea when they left or when I could have left instead of going steadily crazier doing nothing.

I kind of want to kill somebody, now.


(And, Niki, honeybear, babe, I love you, but your timing on that text message was really awful and now I just want to cry.)

I found out why Health Services is hassling me. *flail* Because my Hepatitis B vaccine or whatever isn't up to date? Um, hi, this was supposed to have been worked out over the summer. They sent me a letter that said, "No problem, you just can't ever use Health Services" and I was like OK I never do anyway because I have an inherent distrust of doctors. So I'm gonna call them tomorrow and be bitchy right back at them. If they insist, yeah, okay, I'll spend the ten dollars and get the damn shot but this shouldn't be an issue at all.
