I will be in Boston March 20 - March 23. Will anyone else be in the area? Right now the only solid plans we've got are for the concert Saturday night (SHAAAAANE); we're looking at other stuff to do, and planning to do some tourist-y things, but I wouldn't mind meeting up with someone.


There's been some serious fail over at fanficrants recently. Why is that?


Can I be slightly narcissistic for a minute here? I got a positive review today on "In The Mood", and OMG, you have no idea how flattered I am that I'm still getting reviews on that fic almost two years later. I'm really proud of it, and I know how egotistical that sounds, but it's really a big mood-booster.


You know what? Prior to today, I'm fairly sure I hadn't heard Brooks & Dunn's "Boot-Scootin' Boogie" for years (and I gotta say? I didn't miss it). But I've heard it three times today. Why?

On a brighter musical note, today I walked into a store and they were playing Flogging Molly's "Kings Of The Kilburn High", and I had glee.

I'm BORED!

I'm writing to y'all from Evan's office, where I have been since five o'clock. Baby-sitting the Nutcracker rehearsal. Which means sitting in Evan's office unless they wander in here to ask me for something specific. So far, that consisted of about ten minutes of moving things out of the hallway, and other than that...sitting here.

I did get the script for Theatre For Young Audiences tomorrow typed up and e-mailed off to the relevant people. And I've listened to the NYACK concert version of Chess, the NY previews of Bare, and am now into the OLC of Chess (damn, I love my iPod). Other than that...BORED. VERY BORED. Also tired and undercaffeinated because this is the week wherein I try VERY HARD not to touch the four Cokes sitting in my dorm refrigerator because there's a really good chance that those four will have to get me through finals week because I don't have anything like the time to go off-campus and buy more. BLEGH.


...annnnnnnd I'm back. The Nutcracker folks just came in to let me know that they're leaving so I locked everything up for them (and just remembered that I forget to check the lighting booth...back in a sec...back), but the school dance team is still rehearsing in the Black Box so I can't leave 'til they're done and I can lock everything up. MORE BLEGH. The paycheck had better be worth it, that's all I can say.

"That doesn't make any sense, you see—"

"Dollars or cents, it's still not yours to spend."

"Of course you're mean. Anyone who'd spend a night that doesn't belong to him is very mean."

"Well, I thought that by—"

"That's a different story. If you want to buy, I'm sure I can arrange to sell, but with what you're doing you'll probably end up in a cell anyway."

"That doesn't seem right."

"Agreed, but neither is it left, although if I were you I would have left a long time ago."

"Let me try once more. In other words—"

"You mean you have other words? Well, by all means, use them. You're certainly not doing very well with the ones you have now."

"Must you always interrupt like that?"

"Naturally; it's my job. I take the words right out of your mouth. Haven't we met before? I'm the Everpresent Wordsnatcher, and I'm sure I know your friend the bug."

"Is everyone who lives in Ignorance like you?"

"Much worse. But I don't live here. I'm from a place very far away called Context."

Oh, ridiculously long work days with nothing to do and no hope of being paid for it. :(

Yes, I'm writing to you from my boss's office in the FAC, where I have been since noon, give or take half an hour. Because they need a work-study student here to monitor the symphony orchestra, but said work-study student isn't needed to actually...you know, do anything.

I got some research done for my junior sem final (the Chess set design) and wandered a couple message boards looking at Chess stuff? Also, there's a production this July in Raleigh that I'm going to see if I can get to?

Other than that, BORING. I hate being bored.
