Wow, today was a weird TV day.
First I started by catching up with this past week's Alphas, "Blind Spot". Woo, Rebecca Mader, I missed having you on my TV screen! Man, Alphas is just bringing the awesome guest stars, isn't it?
Rachel's badass moment was perfect. Her little "Man, that felt good" just sealed the deal.
I'm really getting attached to Bill at this point, to the point where Zen!Bill just felt wrong to me. That is not Bill!
And for some reason all the Cameron/Nina scenes this week gave me Jack/Kate (LOST) flashbacks. What's that about?
Then I switched gears and watched the first episode of the second season of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Don't judge me! Ohmygod this show is made of cute and adorable and I love it far more than I ever expected to. Best scenes: Discord trying to tempt Fluttershy to the dark side and her bright, cheery rebuttals of his every point; Rarity making a token effort to stay away from the shiny and then going completely mental ("I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE" indeed); every time we got to see Twilight Sparkle completely bewildered and WTF over her friends' behavior.
So despite being an episode about a villain called Discord trying to destroy the friendship of our heroines by reversing their key personality traits, it was nevertheless ADORABLE and filled me with good feelings.
And then I switched gears one more time and watched today's Doctor Who, The God Complex. Well, that was EPIC. D:
Properly scary, for starters. I have a lot of phobias and irrational terrors, okay, and this episode played on several of them. Being trapped somewhere where the hallways keep moving and dumping you off in the same place, for starters; there's a reason I generally find bottle-style episodes creepier than episodes with lots of different sets and location shooting. Clowns are another one.
And then the Doctor went and pulled a Fenric on Amy and my face went D: and omg poor Rita she should have been a Companion (I feel like we say that about nearly every one-off character who shows any sort of bravery, but it is SO OFTEN TRUE oh Rita you should have gotten the chance to see the universe properly) AND THEN the Doctor and the Ponds parted ways and I am massively D: D: D: sadface about that and also simultaneously quite relieved that the Ponds' time as Companions ended without actual hatred and "you ruined my life" accusations. Although I suspect we're not quite done with them yet. There's still the finale to go, they'll probably at least show up there, right? *anxious*
"If you bump into my daughter ... tell her to visit her Mum sometime."
OH AMY. Amy and Rory. I keep telling myself that two years is a good run for a Companion and, yes, I'm quite excited to see Eleven with other Companions, but OH I'LL MISS YOU DON'T LEAVE ME D: D: D:
So yeah ... kind of a weird and inconsistent day, TV-watching-wise.

It is adorable and lovely and well-written and made of shiny happy feelings and I loves it, yessss.
The Wikipedia page, the TV Tropes page, the first episode on YouTube, and the most recent episode (season 2 episode 1) on Youtube.

Okay I'm sold. Any show that starts with that has to be good.

"Is the real or not Katniss?"

The writers may in fact be of a somewhat trollish nature. I'm just sayin'.

I'm hopeful that Moff will treat Amy and Rory like Martha got treated, and they'll pop back in once in a while for guest-companion status. Pls?
