Spoilers for "The Last of the Time Lords".

-Martha Jones! *cries* She's the Best of Them All. Except Barbara. BUT STILL.

-Am dying to fic that "one year later". Have seen many people on my flist also mentioning that, although mostly in regards to Jack, the Doctor, and the Master. Well, I want to fic the voyage of the Blessed Saint Martha Jones. Obviously she ran into Grace in San Francisco, and Tegan in Australia, and Ace periodically appeared out of nowhere and taught her to make Nitro-9. And Barbara&Ian's son and Liz, somewhere along the path. And they all helped her out.

-I've seen a lot of critique for the deus ex machina of de-aging the Doctor and I can understand that as it's a bit okay it's pure rubbish and a bit cringeworthy. But I love the idea that Martha spent a year traveling the Earth telling her story. It hits one of my character kinks, okay? Storytellers are one of my favorite archetypes.

-Actually, I think the only thing I need is for Martha to get hooked on an illegal drug and she will have hit on all my character kinks. o.0

-Her family is a bit fabulous, aren't they? Although Leo was devastatingly underused. I had such high hopes for him in this episode, too. Oh, well, in my head he was helping his sister along from the underground for the entire year, while simultaneously keeping his girlfriend and child safe and healthy. And spreading Martha's story himself.

-EVEN THE MASTER COMPARES HER UNFAVORABLY TO ROSE. :( Seriously, guys, WTF. Martha = a thousand million years of pure awesome. Chuck Norris, Jack Bauer, Vin Diesel, Mr. T., and Bruce Campbell could all stand to learn from her.
- There is no theory of evolution. There is only a list of animals that Martha Jones has allowed to live.
- Martha Jones counted to infinity - twice.
- Martha Jones is 50% awesome, and 56% cool. That's right, Martha Jones is more than 100%. You got a problem with that?
- The Big Bad Wolf is afraid of Martha Jones.

-And again, I know some people were upset by the constant repetition of Martha loves the Doctor, but DUDE. That moment, when she's telling Tom about "there used to be someone"? There's a flashback to the kiss/genetic transfer, obviously, and then a flashback to her with unnaturallyaged!Doctor, and I went OMG. Obv it is intended as foreshadowing of the truth of what he whispered to her, but I saw it and thought, "Look! She doesn't love that he's a time-traveling alien who happens to look like David Tennant, she loves that he trusts her and treats her like an intelligent adult!" If Martha met the First Doctor, I am convinced that she would still love him. (Although really who could blame her because Billy Hartnell's a bit gorgeous himself.)

-And, um. That doesn't change the fact that the Doctor needs to be slapped for being a jerk to her.

-She hardcore needs to hook up with Jack. Or Tom. OR BOTH. YES. BOTH.

-"Just to say, I don't blame you." "But who are you?" ♥

-I am CRUSHED that the Doctor let her walk out of the TARDIS. But I am thrilled that it was her decision to go, and she kept her foot in the door by giving him her phone and insisting that as soon as she calls he better come running. ♥ C'mon, has any other Companion managed to do that? It's always been, either you're traveling with the Doctor or you're not. And now Martha has the control of that situation. And I love her for it. Among all those other reasons that I just listed.

-And she is obviously going to spend the next few months qualifying as a doctor, wrangling a job with Torchwood, and having Sexual Tension with Jack, Tosh, and Tom once she manages to casually bump into him and establish a working relationship.

- I am undecided as to how I feel about the Jack/Face of Boe revelation. It is certainly Very Big. And there are aspects of it I think I like and aspects I think I dislike. But mostly I think it was very awkwardly expositioned. It didn't really make a whole lot of narrative sense for Jack to suddenly exposition this story about his childhood, just for a possible Major Character Revelation. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seemed very very awkward.

-Hardcore, I'm in love with Rory Taylor. The lighting in this episode was, again, gorgeous. Srsly, that scene where Jack and the soldiers break in on the TARDIS? Was that not one of the most beautiful, dramatic lighting designs you have ever seen? With the yellow backlighting and the red and purple on their face and...it was absolutely just gorgeous.

-Okay, really? All the production values are gorgeous. Although I still want to beat Murray Gold with a musical score and tell him that less is more...so many of those moments would be soooo much more effective without the overblown orchestra pieces.

-Jack wants to go home to Tosh and Ianto. That's all. Although he wouldn't mind if Martha came with.

-Doctor/Master is Ridiculously Canon. ♥

-Lucy should have had more to do.

-On one level, I know that that whole Master-dancing-around-his-evil-headquarters-to-pop-music scene is ridiculous and over the top. But on another level, I loved it, it made me laugh.

-QUARRIES. ♥♥

-I have probably forgotten things. But I've also left out quite a lot because I don't want to dwell on the frustratingly ridiculous aspects of deus ex machina. Because, um. MARTHA.

So to sum up: MARTHA JONES YOU SAVED THE WORLD. ♥♥♥
