"Marshal. Ma'am. ...Fella."

My thoughts on this week's episode are not long but are heartfelt.
Overall it was a pretty bland but inoffensive adventure. Not one of my favorites but I didn't hate it; Ben Browder was fun and there were some good lines.
But mostly I kept getting distracted by production elements, especially the lighting. Oh my God the lighting. The lighting was spectacular. Correct me if I'm wrong but I feel like that was the best use of shadow Nu!Who has had. (42 also had spectacular lighting but it was more in its use of color and texture than in its use of texture.)
Ugh, Stephan Pehrsson, hire me and I will haul equipment across sets for you if it lets me see how you work this magic, because you have beautiful lighting.
(Especially in the "Is he worth it?" "I don't know, but you are." scene. If you did not make note of the lighting in that scene, go back and rewatch it now, I demand it. That was spectacular.)

...did someone order too much bland for this season?

Why were 11, Amy and Rory there? Because unless I missed something, there was no explanation of why they were there?
Why are we in America AGAIN? I mean seriously why? The entire point of travelling with the Doctor is to explore time and space... and he goes to America? :/
WHEN were Team Tardis? Ben Browder's character mentioned it was few years after the war... without meaning to sound rude, AMERICA IS ALWAYS AT WAR WITH SOMEONE WHICH GODDAMN WAR?
Complete and total lack of context.
And why is 11 suddenly an idiot? Why did he apparently park the Tardis far far away? Perhaps this would make sense if we knew why they were there...
This is as bad as last week, the fuck is going on here?
