So after waiting the hurricane out in Charlottesville with no Internet (horrors!) I have returned to my usual neck of the woods. The hostel I've been staying at still has no power; since I'm not working Monday, I opted to return to NC with my parents, who will return me to Williamsburg tomorrow.

Now on to the important bit, the bit I missed doing in a timely manner due to the aforementioned No Internet.

Yes, that's right, NEW DOCTOR WHO.

Oh my God I am fully aware of how flawed this episode was but I don't care I loved it anyway.

(No, I am serious, usually when I love an episode it takes a second watch to realize how flawed it is but this time I was actually thinking at various points "That could be better" or "Really? :|" and then it would be immediately overwritten by "OMG I DON'T CARE I LOVE YOU EPISODE". I don't know what this means.)

The Amy/Rory/Mels flashbacks were lovely. How many times has Amy's childhood been rewritten so far? And Amy being absolutely convinced that Rory couldn't possibly have a thing for her and Rory just being absolutely mortified at this conversation ♥♥♥.
(Also, only the boys get in trouble. Amy counts as one of the boys. Heeee.)

I don't care about preserving timelines. I want Mels to be the next Companion.

(So, anyway, I pretty much called Mels = Melody Pond = River Song as soon as that teaser clip was released with the Doctor calling her Mels. It just seemed obvious? But that didn't make it less awesome.)

Amy and Rory's expressions when they realized that Mels = their Melody was fantastic.

"Shut up, Dad, I'm focusing on a dress size!"

River/Mels and the Doctor trying to out-clever each other with the bullets/the gun/the banana was a brilliant moment.

And the Rose/Martha/Donna = GUILT, MORE GUILT, LOTS OF GUILT ... that was fab. "There must be someone I haven't screwed up yet!"

And then bb!Amelia! D: "I am not Amelia Pond. I am a voice interface." "I can be brave for you, but you have to tell me how." "I am not Amelia Pond. I am a voice interface." "..." "Fish fingers and custard."

"Sonic cane!"
"Are you serious?"
"Never knowingly."

Rory and Amy were both such amazing badasses throughout, omg. I LOVE YOU BOTH. You're BADASS.

"That man is my best friend and that woman is my daughter and you will let him see it!"

So the Silence doesn't mean "Aliens you can't remember if you're not looking at them" after all. Religious order looking for the answer to a question ... and the question is unknown. H2G2 flashbacks anyone?

"You will experience a tingling sensation and then death."

Mels/River looks so awed by the TARDIS. I love her. I love them. Am I allowed to ship the TARDIS with everyone? I SHIP THE TARDIS WITH EVERYONE.

"Find her. Find River Song. And tell her something from me."

*flails ALL OVER River saving the Doctor by giving up her regnerations*

"Rule one. The Doctor lies." *flails more*

"She'll be absolutely fine."
"No. She won't. She will be ... amazing."


I AM SO EXCITED TO HAVE MY SHOW BACK, ILU SHOW.

I agree...it was flawed...but man was it a damn entertaining episode!

And while flawed...did answer some previous questions and such.

I'm kinda like that too -- it was flawed, but I still loved it. Not sure if it's gonna be one of those I rewatch a whole lot, but it was fun to see some answers, and also backstory. And, yeah, it was FUN. Maybe too weird to be fun as a stand-alone, but in the grand scheme, yeah.

Also, I'm not sure you can ship River/TARDIS. Apparently that's like incest at this point. Although if her parents are Amy/Rory/TARDIS, that definitely makes Eleven like, godfather or something. Or father-in-law, what with his relationship with the TARDIS, or something, idk, I just woke up, what do you want from me.

Is it just me, or does the sonic cane look like the Master's TCE? Even better considering there were shrinking rays this ep.

I can't wrap my mind around the TARDIS's involvement in River's existence so I've basically decided not to try. They both exist, that's all I know at this point!

Well the TARDIS affected her DNA when she was created, soooo, technically that way she's a third parent-- WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT.

If River is the TARDIS's daughter, and the TARDIS is the Doctor's wife, does this mean that the Doctor is dating his step-daughter?

I can't quite decide if this is more or less confusing than the whole Davison-Moffet-Tennant baby thing.
