Guessssssss who spent the day with her Honeybear? That's right, me! ♥♥♥ I love my Niki. I want to spend more time with her. Just us. Plz?

Which RENT character are you?

And snagged from [livejournal.com profile] kawaiispinnel:

Describe Your...

1. Top Ten Favorite Series

1. LOST

I have loved Lost since the first time I saw it. The pilot. The shot of the white tennis shoe hanging in the tree. Love. ♥ I love nearly all of the characters, and it tears my heart up in all the best ways.

2. Doctor Who
Classic and New both. I adore the Doctor; he's a bastard, yah, but he's such an awesome one. And I love almost all of his companions, but especially Barbara and Martha. And the TARDIS herself. And the format of the show. And...well, everything, really.

3. Andromeda
Yes, I freely admit that the writing quality of the last few seasons was mind-numbingly awful. And I want to cry just thinking about it. But dammit, the potential, and the original concepts, and Harper and Beka and Rommie and Trance and Rev and Tyr and Brendan Lahey and Gaheris Rhade and...yeah. I can't help it. Drom still has a treasured place in my heart.

4. Black Donnellys
Hot Irish boys who do crime. Badly. And with good intentions. What else do I need? Drugs? They got that. Adultery? They got that. True love? They got that. False love? They got that. Pretty much you name it, they got it!

5. Dresden Files
Jim Butcher + Robert Hewitt Wolfe + Paul Blackthorne = love. That simple.

6. Firefly
"This land is a fertile land, and we shall thrive. We shall rule over this land, and we will call it...This Land."
"I think we should call it Your Grave!"
"Ahh! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"

7. Heroes
Not fantastically clever, but featuring a fairly awesome cast of characters. Hiro won my heart first, but I am equally in love with Isaac, Niki, D.L., Micah, Matt, Ted, Molly, Claude, and so many others.

8. Psych
Shawn is made of win and awesome. Okay, so he's an immature brat. But he's also compassionate, smart, funny, occasionally dedicated, and pleasantly weird. And Gus is fanTAStic--he tries to be all grown up and responsible, but he lets Shawn drag him around everywhere and get him involved in wacky capers with nothing more than "It's a safecracking job!" or "Denzel!" And, um, Karen Vick. Nuff said.

9. The Chronicle
Quirky, funny, thought-provoking, with a brilliant cast. And Wes/Tucker/Grace is sooooo canon. And "For God's sake don't sleep with her!" And Grace not finding out her boyfriend was a vampire until their second to last date. And Wes's comics fixation. And Tucker's Elvis fixation. And...yeah, I could go on for a while.

10. Torchwood
Captain Jaaaaack. Srsly, that's the main appeal, with liberal amounts of Tosh and making out sprinkled in. Also, a pterodactyl fighting a cyberwoman--how can you not love a show that embraces its crackiness to that degree?

2. Top Nine Favorite Characters

1. Claire Littleton (Lost)

♥ She's played by Emilie, okay? And I love Emilie. And besides, Claire is sweet, kind, and generous; she's also independent, tougher than she looks, viciously protective, smart, and deeply complicated. I love her so much.

2. Barbara Wright (Doctor Who)
A true goddess. Literally (almost). Starts out as 'just' a schoolteacher; within three serials, she's the one problem-solving, figuring things out, and saving the day. Has great subtext with Ian but also manages to have bisexual subtext with a ton of guest characters. Screamed when she first met the Daleks; the next time around, she ran over them in a truck. Wears sensible shoes and has a real sixties sense of style. Just all-around awesome.

3. Martha Jones (Doctor Who)
The woman who walked 'round the world. Flirted with Shakespeare. Faced down Daleks. Stood on the moon and kept fighting. When hijacked by a desperate couple, was more concerned by the drugs the woman was taking than by her own perilous situation. Worked in a shop to support the Doctor. And never, never lost hope. All while being compared unfavorably to her predecessor. Martha Jones, you saved the world.

4. Seamus Harper (Andromeda)
Born and raised in a refugee camp--watched his home destroyed piece by piece, his parents murdered by slavers who wanted to take him, his cousins eaten alive from the inside and mercy-killed by his own family. And he never quit. He never gave up. He got himself a ride off the planet, then scored a job, and he did it with style, with a sense of humor and true genius and a libido that wouldn't quit. Oh, and he surfs. Dude. The love god.

5. Joey Ice Cream (Black Donnellys)
Unreliable narrator for the win! And Joey especially, because he's so pathetic, he's left behind all the time and he just wants desperately to be included. So he rewrites history to be included. And, gah, when the brothers do think of him--the look on his face--and, jeez. I love him. He's sitting in prison for an unnamed crime and I just want to hug him because he reminds me of a kicked puppy.

6. Mickey Smith (Doctor Who)
He gets called Rickey the Idiot and blamed for his girlfriend's murder, "things through my letterbox", whispered about, ignored, criticized, tossed aside. And he still goes on. He saves the world. He's clever and brave and more than a little broken, and he doesn't give up on people. And in the end--he's everything he thought he wasn't, and so much more. Also, he's totally in love with Jake. And it's mutual. Paris? C'mon, that was a total come on.

7. Wes Freewald (The Chronicle)
Hot photographer geek boy! Love the piercings, hardcore. And the fact that he was belittled and mocked in school for being an overweight geek who was too into comics? That just makes me identify with and love him all the more. He's a doll, he really is.

8. Hoban Washburne (Firefly)
He's a grown man and a gifted pilot who plays with toy dinosaurs and is married to a warrior woman. How can you possibly not love him?

9. Michael Dawson (Lost)
He tries so hard. He really, really wants to be the world's best father/husband/friend, and he has no idea what he's doing, and sometimes he messes up...sometimes he messes up really badly...but his intentions are always good. I feel badly for him. And he's a great artist who never got a shot, and the world has just trampled all over him.

3. Top Eight Favorite Canon Pairings
1. Charlie/Claire (Lost)
My very first OTP. Ever. Emotionally needy, clingy drug addict + commitment phobic single mother. It's so messed up! And yet they fit together -- not in an I FIX U way, but just in a brilliant THIS IS RIGHT way. And I love that. To a ridiculous extent.

2. Desmond/Penny (Lost)
Tragic Odyssey love. They keep messing things up for themselves. And one day they're going to be reunited and it's all going to be perfect, but until then I just want to cry for them both. They're so obviously in love, and so obviously afraid of that.

3. Wash/Zoe (Firefly)
Aforementioned grown man who plays with dinosaurs, and the hot warrior woman who loves him, and Serenity made me cry like you wouldn't believe.

4. Barbara/Ian (Doctor Who)
They're so...so...stable. Even when the world falls apart around them they depend on each other. And Ian's not threatened by Barbara's Total Awesome, and Barbara can save him sometimes and sometimes it can be the other way around without invalidating either of them.

5. Niki/D.L. (Heroes)
She tried to kill him. And he tried to kill her. And then they cried all over each other. And he held her in the psych ward. And then he tried to die for the sake of her and Micah. And then she saved him. And "Everything I've done I did for them". And they're about sixty million kinds of messed-up but they love each other anyway and that hits my best loves.

6. Jimmy/Joanie (Black Donnellys)
They are both junkies! Emotionally incompatible junkies, at that--Joanie really wants to love Jimmy and be loved by Jimmy, and Jimmy's more possessive than loving. And that scene in the last episode? Where she's crying and begging him to come along, because she's gonna go with the Donnellys and get out and get clean and make something of herself regardless, but she really wants him with her? Breaks my freaking heart.

7. Rose/Bernard (Lost)
They're just plain indescribable. Solid and reassuringly dependable, and yet there is so much love there. It's still new to them, really, and yet they manage to give the impression of having always been together.

8. Tosh/Mary (Torchwood)
Yes, I know Mary was only using Tosh for her own evil purposes. It was still gorgeous. And tragic, for poor Tosh who found love only to have it turn out to be as unreal as everything else.

4. Top Seven Favorite Non-Canon Pairings

1. Michael/Sun (Lost)

Why did they drop this? They had such awesome chemistry. :(

2. Mickey/Jake (Doctor Who)
...is Mickey/Jake canon? I can't quite figure that out. But anyway. Paris. Paris.

3. Harper/Beka (Andromeda)
They both have lousy taste in the opposite sex, which could easily be fixed by hooking up with each other. And they obviously love each other (see: the hug in USV, pretty much all of BAMSR, IMALL...). They just have to get past that whole thing where they think the other sees them as a sibling figure.

4. Gus/Juliet (Psych)
Geek!love! Plus they're always checking each other out, anyway. They could be geeky!cute together.

5. Wes/Tucker/Grace (The Chronicle)
I couldn't decide whether this fit as canon or not so I put it here. They have chemistry like a mad thing, and they depend on each other all the freaking time. Plus they're always touching and flirting with each other, and so many problems would be fixed if they would all just hook up.

6. Jack/Tosh (Torchwood)
I'm shallow, they're pretty, I admit it.

7. Sawyer/Sun (Lost)
She's like the sweetest woman ever, he's thinly-veiled evil with a Southern accent. They bring out interesting sides in each other. Plus: rain, slapping, diamonds.

5. Top Six Favorite Crackpairings

1. Michael/Shannon (Lost)

It's cracky but it's my crack. She needs someone to show her she can be responsible. He needs someone who'll help him lighten up once in a while. It could totally work.

2. Martha/Barbara (Doctor Who)
Yeah, yeah, they're from two different eras. But the combined power of AWESOME would cure pretty much every problem in the universe. Trufax.

3. Harper/Nassan (Andromeda)
They have so much in common! With the being refugees and the fear of Magog and Nietzscheans and growing up too fast. Plus, cute. Cute.

4. Joanie/Jenny (Black Donnells)
what they have in common: trouble with Donnelly boys. I think they could help each other figure some stuff out.

5. Mitten/Hand (Torchwood)
...I refuse to explain.

6. Ignatius/Maru (Andromeda)
...see no. 5.

6. Top Five Favorite Friendships

1. Charlie & Rose (Lost)

A depressingly underused friendship. Pretty much the only part of Whatever The Case May Be that I liked. He needs her as a friend!

2. Barbara & First Doctor (Doctor Who)
She gave him the verbal smackdown when he needed it. He respected her even when he couldn't show it. Really the focal point of the first few seasons.

3. Harper & Beka (Andromeda)
Yeah, yeah, I know I just listed them as one of my non-canon pairings. Doesn't matter. I love them as friends, too. They're v. supportive of each other and loving and worried and just wonderful.

4. Shawn & Gus (Psych)
They're so...snuggly. They joke around and tease each other and draw on shared memories, and they are very much Childhood Friends Who Grow Up To Be Very Different But Still Close. I love that. I love them.

5. Mal & Zoe (Firefly)
War buddies who would happily die for each other, and just as happily live for each other, and yet there's nothing at all romantic about their relationship! Isn't that amazing? That's so rare in televised fiction, and it's beautiful and I adore it.

7. Top Four Favorite Series Moments

1. Harper's 'genocide' speech in TLTFL (Andromeda)

Was the scene that made me fall in love with the show. Truth. Shades of gray, people.

2. Barbara running over Daleks in a truck (Doctor Who)
...self-explanatory.

3. Martha and the year that didn't happen (Doctor Who)
She's so awesome. Storytellers are one of my favorite archetypes, FTR.

4. Sean getting beaten badly in the street (Black Donnellys)
Yeah, yeah, I'm sick, whatever. But it's such a powerful moment. And Kim running to try and help, and Tommy's anguish, and Jimmy's shock of realizing that this is my fault...it's the moment that starts the whole series, let's be honest.

8. Top Three Fanfiction Kinks

1. High School AUs

Well-done high school AUs, I hasten to add. Not that there are many of those. Maybe two, in all of fandom. But well-done high school AUs are my greatest weakness. I can't explain it. Don't blame me.

2. Non-sequential storytelling
I don't care if it's a story that starts at the end and works backwards, or time travel that works unexpectedly. I just love when the cause happens after the effect, especially when it's well thought out.

3. Clever, unexpected crossovers
Someone falls through a portal into another world! is not an interesting crossover, unless it's Sliders. Proposing that two different worlds have been coexisting and influencing each other all along? That's an interesting crossover. Those I love.

9. Top Two Fanfics You Would Write If You Had the Time and the Ability

1. Chess/Lost crossover

...which has been sitting unfinished on my hard drive for God knows how long. *guilty* It's an interesting idea, I just can't seem to get it down on paper.

2. Ghost!Shannon/Grown-up!Walt fic
This is another one that I periodically try to write, fail, and give up. It's all based on the idea of Walt, ten or so years down the line, grown up and thinking he's put the Island totally in his past, and then being haunted by Shannon's ghost. She's trying to tell him something, but he can't seem to find out what. It's such a cool idea. It's beyond my current ability.

10. Top Fanfic Rec

This was tough, but:

The Boy Who Killed Time, Doctor Who, PG. Dark and creepy, mixing New School and Old in a way that works on every single level, leaving me with the shivers and nightmares. Brilliant writing, all 'round.
