fandomsecrets batch is about Hamlet. *loves* And this seems as good a time as any to advance one of my crack theories, which is this: If Horatio and Mercutio switched plays, Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet would both have ended much earlier and without all the bloodshed. Mercutio would have smacked Hamlet around until he went ahead and killed Claudius without all the dillydallying about trying to get proof, and Horatio would have very calmly put together a plan for Romeo and Juliet to run off together that didn't involve dying or faking deaths or massive miscommunications.
My brain works in odd ways.
