In fandom/rl news, I have decided what modern movies I'm going to talk about in my Classics Of American Cinema paper about how the roles of women have changed over the years -- Serenity (River, specifically) and Hairspray (Tracy, specifically). Yes, I know that Serenity is overrun with awesome women, but River fits the archetype I'm talking about best.
...I should actually be writing this paper rather than talking about it vaguely here. But y'know. I have hot chocolate and a childhood movie and you guys, and that's way more interesting.
