Awww.
I have to say this upfront: I am 100% here for Zay/Maya being Now. They're sweet together, Zay is so wonderful he can only improve things for Maya even if/when it doesn't work out, and the promise of Someday shouldn't prevent Maya from living out the Now.
I also wasn't really expecting this particular episode to go there, but I am AOK with it.
Other thoughts:
The kids who play baby Riley, Maya, and Auggie are brilliantly cast, and endearingly cute, and I loved baby Riley and baby Maya torturing Maya throughout.
Lucas's story about the sack of gold was adorable.
Loved all the little continuity nods throughout, from the BMW era (the silver boxing gloves!) and from GMW itself (Zay being preoccupied with Riley having eaten his cookie!) and from both blending together (Topanga and Farkle talking about how they've each changed as they've gotten older! plus I will never get sick of nods to hippie Topanga tbh).
Josh is so great. His vehement protest that the kids needed to hang on to their childhoods as long as possible was so great. His story about his roommate was so great. Everything about Josh: Great.
And Riley getting Maya both tacos and a bobblehead: GREAT.
I do not care about Riley's Beary Bear, but I don't think I needed to. Beary was just a MacGuffin to get the rest of this story in there. And the rest of this story was excellent.
But mostly: Zay/Maya.
