chicafrom3That was cute! Nothing game-changing, all the ~~twists were predictable, and I doubt it'll make anyone's Best Of lists, but it was really cute. Auggie and Ava getting super into their detective playacting was adorable, and everyone playing along with the meloadrama.
Also, the kid who plays Yogi is a comedic genius and can do so much without saying a word.
Riley being super-naive, partially on purpose, is cuter than Riley being super-dumb, and I felt like this episode was a good example of "Riley is naive and also exaggerates how naive she is". Demolition is a slightly better example because she actively stops playacting at it, but c'mon, you can't convince me that Riley didn't know full well what Fish Store Phil was doing with Chelsea's corpse and just felt better pretending she didn't.
The increasingly ridiculous ways the kids killed their fish was fab. "I was ashamed to tell you about our trip to the Empire State Building. I took her all the way to the top and put her on the ledge. I told her to lean back a little. She listened to me."
The group hugs at the end were really sweet. I'm choosing to headcanon that the class is comprised of three or four really tight friend groups and it's only our focus on Riley's group that prevents us from knowing the exact makeup of those groups.
