The slash was strong tonight, wow. Between Cory declaring that he's bringing sexy back and then promptly following it up with "only for Shawn" and then Maya and Riley staring soulfully into each other's eyes while declaring that they could never disappoint each other . . . well, like father like daughter, I guess.
(Maya/Riley endgame pls?)
Always great to see the return of Evelyn Rand! I love how much she adores and supports the girls, and seeing her go all out and out-manipulate Audrey the salesgirl was fantastic.
Also Riley essentially saying that she plays up being the chump because Maya gets a kick out of it, and then pulling out a manipulative scheme worthy of Cory & Shawn in the bad old days, and then once it's settled going right back to her wide-eyed innocent self and finally getting her astronaut riding a horse -- that was incredible. INCREDIBLE, I say. Riley, my sweet innocent manipulative child. (And Maya's heartbreak over not being the best bad influence Riley could have, because if she's not the best bad influence, has she failed Riley? You could never fail Riley, Maya.)
And then there's Topanaga going from Badass Lawyer Mom to offering a hand of redemption to the girl who screwed over her kids. Although I have to admit "you have to be a good person before you can be a good lawyer" made me raise an eyebrow. Are you sure about that, Topanga? Are you really sure?
