OMG CYRUS' MOTHER IS AMARA.
Um. I'll be coming back to that.
You know, I never would have guessed from the first couple episodes of this show, but I think I can now safely declare that the Red Queen is my favorite character. She's just SO GREAT. She's conflicted and confusing and capable of both extraordinary strength and incredible weakness. She wants to be loved. She wants power. She wants Will's happiness and respect. She wants safety. She wants to do the right thing. And she doesn't know how to deal with any of that.
Also I think the Jabberwocky confirmed that she's Cinderella's stepsister. Can we get Jessy Schram for a couple flashbacks and see them interacting?/only person who misses Cinderella from OUAT
And then Tweedle shows up to pledge his loyalty to her and omg I melted everywhere. She thinks nobody loves or respects or wants her, but "You're my Queen, Your Majesty". ♥ And she sends him away to help Alice and Cyrus. ♥♥♥ She's trying so hard and I love her so much.
Also AMARA IS CYRUS' MOTHER.
I doubt OUATIW is going to even attempt the depths of family tree convolutedness that OUAT has reached, but dude. Amara is the one who told Jafar that with the three genies he could *mumblepowermumblerulesofmagicmumble*, right? Is there a chance she was lying in an attempt to get her sons back? IT WOULD MAKE SENSE. Maybe. I need to rewatch the relevant episodes.
Cyrus is pretty dumb, both in flashbacks and present day, but so are his brothers; maybe he came by it honestly. Sorry, Amara. You raised dumb kids.
Alice and Will didn't have much to do this episode, but they both had some pretty sweet moments; "don't do it, Ana" and "I'll be your bottle", not to mention Alice figuring out the door riddle. And Will's snarking in the beginning about how the most important part of any plan is getting the genies out of the bottles was delightful.
OMG, next weekOUATIW goes to Storybrooke! :D :D :D And Cora/The Queen Of Hearts shows up! :D :D :D
