Hey, I finished Eureka!
I surprised myself by being invested in Allison and Jack getting married. But come on, that was a really cute wedding.
I changed my mind about Holly & Fargo. I ship them after all. Probably largely due to how deliberately messed-up their relationship was throughout this last season. (And also just because Felicia Day.) There was a lot of "OH GOD NO" with regards to Holly's storyline. (Not in the "YOU SUCK WRITERS WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT" sense, just in the "OH NO MY HEART" sense.)
And then there were the little Andy/S.A.R.A.H. moments that made me happy. Like the climax of "Smarter Carter". ("Mi bonita casa". Awww.)
In terms of plot, once again I find myself unsure whether or not I liked the main plot device of the season, I.E., the whole Matrix thing. The individual plots within that mostly worked for me, though, so I guess I'm okay with it in the long run. Reallllly could've done without the whole Allison-is-jealous-of-Jo-because-Matrix!Carter-was-dating-Matrix!Jo thing, though. That didn't work for me on any level.
All in all, didn't enjoy it quite as much as season 4, but more than the previous seasons.
Eureka season 5: 7 / 10
I actually think this is a show that I like more as a whole than as the sum of its parts? Because there were large chunks that barely held my attention, and characters I didn't care much at all about, and plots that annoyed me, and whatever, but looking back I'm glad I stayed through the whole thing. It works for me better as a whole in retrospect than it did as individual episodes.
And I really liked the bookend scenes with Jack and Zoe driving into/out of town.
S.A.R.A.H.'s my favorite character. I don't know if that says something about me. Zoe had the best and most consistent character development, probably because she was one of the few characters who wasn't reset or forced onto a new course by the timeline shift in season 4. And Felicia Day should be in every show ever, she should have a Mark Sheppard-esque career.
Eureka as a whole: 7 / 10
Next I am going to take a brief break from TV marathons and watch some movies, maybe rewatch some old stuff. But then
