Does anyone else get concepts for AU fics recurring in their heads? I mean. There's this AU idea I thought up a long time ago, tried to write, failed to write, and put aside with a shrug of "was not meant to be", but every so often it pops back up in my head. It's very annoying, because I'm never any closer to actually writing it.

(This particular fic concept is an Andromeda AU based pretty much entirely on the fact that Harper's middle name is 'Zelazny'. On the other hand, you know, Harper's middle name is Zelazny. Why has no one written an AU where he's immortal and part of a big, scheming, batshit crazy family of immortals?)

(No, I don't know why my brain works the way it does.)

Unrelated, is there anyone who'd be willing to do a quick beta of a Doctor Who OC-centric fic? It's due to be posted for [livejournal.com profile] lgbtfest on the twelfth and I'm very unsure of it. ...I had a feeling when I signed up for this I'd regret it. :|

WHY YES IT IS LAST-MINUTE.

I do this all the time (I actually have several 'fic' universes that never leave my head, lol) but I have been trying to get better about writing them anyway, especially if one of my reasons for not doing it is because I don't think anyone will read it. This is why I went ahead and wrote my Smallville story (which is 1 part Clark/Lex slash, 1 part canon AU, and 1 part Andromeda crossover) even though I didn't think anyone would read it. Now, will I write the sequel in my head about Lex Luthor accidentally being the founder of a heretical Nietzschean pride who have cryogenically preserved Lex and Clark's bodies for centuries, for them to be re-awakened somewhere around the events of the second season of Andromeda, all stemming from the events in the first fic? Probably not, but I know it happens. ;)

I know virtually nothing about Smallville beyond the basics and OMG THAT SOUNDS AWESOME! :D

Bwaaaah. Possibly because Zelazny's works may be (relatively) unknown among the fandom? ((Darn you, now I'm trying to crossover This Immortal with Andromeda.))

I have absolutely no idea how you could plausibly meld those two canons but if you can pull it off DO IT. *enables* Because that would be amazing.

Regardless of obscurity, there should be some sort of Zelazny tribute fic.

Every time I watch Clerks 2 I get the same idea for a fic where awkward things happen at Dante and Emma's wedding, think I really should write it, then remember I tried and it all fell apart. Every time.

Fic ideas me over and over again cuz I never get around to actually writing them. It is thoroughly frustrating.

What era of Who is it? I know about the beginning and the end, I'm still working on the middle.

It's really annoying when you have a fic idea, and you're all "That would be awesome', and then you can't write it and you can't get rid of it either. :|

It's Eleventh Doctor era (mainly because...Eleven is the current Doctor so he's in my head the most), two original companions, about 1500 words.

I'd be happy to look it over if you want. I've never really done the beta-reader thing before. I've workshopped stuff though. That counts for something, right?
