So that was kind of awesome.
I love River. And Amy. And River/Amy fangirling over each other. "You're really good."
Prior to this episode I had been seeing Eleven/Amy's relationship as very grandfather/granddaughter-y and now they have been firmly slotted into big brother/little sister in my head. "Are you Mr. Grumpyface today?" <3
Disclaimer: I was one of those people who was not overly enthused about the Angels coming back, because I thought they were excellent one-episode villains and bringing them back would cheapen that. I was Very Very Wrong, omg. They were used fabulously.
Amy and her stone hand was very nightmare-fuel-y. Worse than that for me, though, was when she rubbed her eye and there was all the stone dust and OMGNO. I have major eye squick. I suspect I am either entirely the wrong audience for Moffat or exactly the right one. (The man likes playing on eye squick, that's all I'm saying.)
I would break my neck trying to wear River's shoes but I nevertheless want them. Thus is the curse of awesome costume departments.
Amy's enthusiasm over "you promised me a planet!" and "is that a planet out there?" was so adorable I have lost words for it. SOCUTE.
I hope the Doctor goes back to leaving the brakes on. It is a brilliant noise. (Matt impersonating the TARDIS landing noises = also brilliant.)
Confession time: Once it was established that the ~alien species whose name I can't remember well enough to try to spell~ had two heads I got grumpy that the prop department hadn't given the statuary two heads and was very much all "bad prop department" AND THEN IT TURNED OUT TO BE A MAJOR PLOT POINT. I apologize for doubting you, prop department.
I HATE CLIFFHANGERS but I love two-parters so idk, I guess that balances out. Is it time for next week's episode yet?

I just had a giggle today... when the Tardis gets hit, you can almost hear her go 'Owww shit, wtf?'

"River Song is not the Doctor's wife.
River Song is the Doctor's Tardis."
