Unsinkable, that's me.

Finally got to see Voyage of the Damned.
- Kylie was quite Not Bad. I liked Astrid, even as annoyed as I got by the whole, once again the Doctor shows tons of appreciation to the flaky blond whilst blowing off the totally capable Martha. Her utter joy at setting foot on another planet was wonderful. So in conclusion, Astrid is lovely, and the Doctor is still a jerk.
- I kinda like the remixed theme music? I think I need to hear it some more before I decide.
- Called every death before it happened. Also called the jerk surviving the crisis and profiting off of it. Didn't so much call the jerk hugging the Doctor, but hey, not complaining.
- Bannakaffalatta proposing to Astrid! So adorable.
- ...okay, the Doctor is way too dependent on his sonic screwdriver. Can we maybe break it for awhile and teach him how to be dependent on his own cleverness again?
- Whiskey tango foxtrot is the Time War responsible for the Doctor knowing so much about Earth. Pssh. He's been fascinated by Earth since...since Babs impressed him with her awesomeness.
- Religious imagery a little bit (WAY TOO) much. Being lofted by angels? Really?
- Loved the crack about "one of these days it'll snow for real". And London being deserted because of Christmas alien invasions. I enjoy meta humor, what can I say?
- ...I like bottle shows and disaster shows, and this was a really good one, with the closed-in feeling and having a limited amount of space and a group of characters that don't know each other (or barely know each other) forced into depending on and helping and trusting and loving one another. I love those kinds of stories (see: LOST) and this was no exception.
- I miss Martha already but Donna looks to be Any Good At All, so we'll hold off whining for a bit.
And! And! And! Doctor Who Love Meme! Show the love, people!
