I think they're both valid methods of film-watching, but yours probably tends to piss off fewer people. Honestly, I have a list of at least twelve people who won't watch films with me anymore because while they're trying to understand the plot I'm going "Ooh! Ooh! Look at the angle of that lighting! Isn't that beautiful? Wow, I wish I could meet the costume designer for this..." :D
