I think the worst part for me is that Mickey and Martha are both unrelentingly awesome. And so when you try to come up with an explanation for why the Doctor treats both of them badly, "'cos they're black" is the only explanation that seems to fit? Er, or "'cos they're NOT ROSE" which is depressing in a very similar direction.
Ugh. I can't think about this. We need a statement that Martha is coming back next season totally independent and the Doctor realizes what a git he's been to her and apologizes and treats her better and calls her awesome a lot.
Martha's too competent for Torchwood. They wouldn't be able to mess everything up as often is she were part of the team. Although Martha/Tosh or Martha/Ianto or Martha/Jack def. has potential.
