are they weird or adorable?

I kind of really want Maya's Hamlet t-shirt. I am kind of really too old to be taking fashion tips from a Disney channel kidcom.
Also I'm kind of shipping Darby/Yogi. They're weird AND adorable! You do you, guys.
So I'm not a big Lucas/Riley fan. I don't dislike them, I'm just also not terribly into their relationship. That said, I do really like this ongoing theme of examining the way other people's perception and their own expectations influence them, and how they're not always completely sure whether they're doing something because they want to or because they think they're supposed to. ("I guess we should." "Try again." "I really, really want to.") I'm on board for the ride, and for the difference between diamonds and dust. (And the cutest breakup scene in TV history, omg, that was adorable.) (And Riley's Knicks rant, which was spectacular, wow.)
I was pretty annoyed that they left their smoothie untouched though, not gonna lie. And I don't think they paid for it. I know your mom owns the place, Riley, but c'mon, at least drink a little bit of it. And then they go back and get two separate smoothies that I can pretend they drank because we didn't see them walk out and leave it behind untouched.
The Maya/Farkle subplot was cute, particularly the "the only way we can be happy is if I sell you and buy a big house so the two of us can live happily ever after" "you're selling the ring?" "no" "you're selling me?" "I thought that was clear" bit. I don't really see Maya as the type to get blinded by sparkly jewelry but it was cute.
The Doy subplot was also cute, although kind of content-less.
I guess the meta jokes are going to be thicker this season, which I'm cool with. Riley naming off all the tropes of a typical episode! (And then "because Maya can never be happy" which is almost word-for-word what the writers have said about Shawn, so, wow.)
All in all, I am very pleased with this episode, yessss.
More generally, it's really noticeable how much the kids have grown up since the show started. Particularly Farkle.
