Hurricane update!

BGW decided to close the park for the weekend due to Irene. My crew spent all of our non-show-time today getting the Ireland area ready for the hurricane; this involved dragging random crap down from the roofs, turning off everything electrical that could possibly be turned off, unplugging everything we could, covering all sound and light boards with plastic, bagging up the Abbeystone scrollers, and putting tarps wherever there would likely be a leak. Now to see what condition the theaters are in after Irene passes ...

Due to the park being closed Saturday and Sunday and my having Monday scheduled off, I opted to evacuate with my parents. So they picked me up after I got off work, I threw some stuff in bags to take with me and put other things up high to leave behind, and we left. I am writing this from a hotel room just outside Richmond. Tomorrow we plan to drive a bit further inland and north. And then drive back Sunday afternoon, probably.
