I'll be honest, I didn't know anything about it for a long time beyond "J.J. Abrams' new project, codenamed something-or-other, monster movie" and was not terribly excited; I like J.J. Abrams, he gave me Lost after all, but on that little bit of information I didn't see much to get interested in.
