But one's not enough. Bay window. Bay window, all of you!

This episode. THIS EPISODE.

I want your shoes! ...I wanna work at the company that makes your shoes? ...I wanna run the company that makes your shoes!

Topangaaaaa. TOPANGA. Flawless Topanga.

Zay tries to side with the girls and it's so cute. And Riley's reaction is so perfect.

Darby and Yogi are working out some of their relationship issues and that just makes me love them more. And Yogi's reaction to being sacrificed, omg.

But seriously, feminist Riley is everything to me. Because she's fourteen (thirteen? she was twelve when the series started) and she doesn't understand all the nuances and she doesn't fully understand why certain things bother her but she knows when something is wrong, and she knows it's not right that all the marble-droppers are women, and she's not going to stand for it. RILEY MATTHEWS.

And it's a complicated problem. Because Maya is right: she's lazy, and Sarah likes shoes, and Farkle respects female scientists like Marie Curie, and some people just aren't interested in science. But Riley's right, too: it's messed up that the boys do the science and the girls drop the marbles, and societal pressure encourages girls to pretend not to be interested in science until they really think they aren't, and you don't learn if you don't try.

Plus the Ava/Auggie storyline worked really well, both as an Ava/Auggie B-plot and as a mirror of the A-plot. "You have to try or you'll never get better!" "Why should I? They gave me a trophy anyway."

I identify with Maya's realization that she likes blowing things up. As much I root for artist!Maya I would be very happy with future scientist!Maya. OR SCIENTIST/ARTIST!MAYA WITH HER BEST FRIEND/GIRLFRIEND SCIENTIST/ACTIVIST!RILEY. And Riley tries to peacefully protest but Maya likes blowing things up too much.

(Also, "Yeah, this school is pretty messed up" is the best explanation for John Quincy Adams Middle School I've ever heard.)
