I have a particular disdain for blackmailers. They are ... more despicable to me than murderers.

I am disproportionately charmed by the fact that Sherlock did all his tattoos himself. (Or at least claims he did.) Also, I feel I need to mention again that I love Alfredo. "You want me to get in there?"

I hope in season two they do more plots taken from Conan Doyle, because this was seriously great, and made all the better for shifting the point of emphasis to the aftermath of the murder. Just fantastic. And pleasingly convoluted.

Also, Watson is SO GREAT. Holmes jumps to regression and sensory deprivation; Watson recognizes the description and looks up a clip of the dude on her phone for a confirmation. And Holmes has been training her in handwriting recognition! I love their dynamic SO MUCH; she's learning from him, but she's pretty clever even without that.

And the whole plotline of Holmes not wanting to accept his one-year-sobriety chip because he relapsed less than a year ago? WONDERFUL. His ways of trying to deflect from that, and Joan trying to get the truth out of him, and Alfredo's whole speech about how it's not about Holmes's sobriety, it's about the addicts who will realize they can climb out, too -- I KNOW I ALREADY MENTIONED MY LOVE OF ALFREDO BUT I JUST LOVE HIM SO MUCH, STAY FOREVERRRRR.

But seriously, Jonny Lee Miller in the "I decided to stop using drugs! I decided! Me!" scene? HEARTBREAKING. His voice, his body language, everything. "It didn't seem right to tell him before you."

(Oh, and Tom Guiry! Sorry. I just get excited about seeing Black Donnellys alums in other things.)

Next week more clues towards Moriarty!
