No, I see what you're saying! And it makes sense. I have had friends like that. I just feel like after a certain amount of time -- might be months, might be years, might be never but it's more likely to come around sometime -- the shine starts wearing off and you start wishing your friend would let you stay home a weekend/come out and do crazy stuff with you without being nagged into it (depending on which side of the relationship you're on)?

Maybe I'm projecting my own experiences onto them. It's a good point that she's already chosen Ned over adventures, and that the crime-solving offers a steady supply of adventures that he's not opposed to. Maybe instead of things falling apart, Ned would grow up and realize he can't control every detail and doesn't need to try, and Chuck would be willing to give a little on the need to try new things.
