In fandom/rl news, I have decided what modern movies I'm going to talk about in my Classics Of American Cinema paper about how the roles of women have changed over the years -- Serenity (River, specifically) and Hairspray (Tracy, specifically). Yes, I know that Serenity is overrun with awesome women, but River fits the archetype I'm talking about best.
...I should actually be writing this paper rather than talking about it vaguely here. But y'know. I have hot chocolate and a childhood movie and you guys, and that's way more interesting.

The only reason I'm not Horribly Behind is because I spent today shopping in order to postpone writing this film paper (which is now done! yay! now I just have to spend tomorrow writing my Brit Writers paper...) and spent an awful lot of money I don't really have in the name of procrastination.
