I dislike Rose because she was mean to Mickey and I overidentify with Mickey, so she was therefore mean to me

Mickey's a sweetheart, and more dependable than most of the other characters. I like Rose, but I hated the way the show handled the Rose/Mickey/Doctor angst. I don't even see why they felt the need to add a "love triangle" to the show.
