Expending effort on my NaNo profile, because I'm really good at finding ways to waste time.

Who's doing NaNo this year? It is my first year and I'm NERVOUS. Be writing buddies? My username over there is chicafrom3, same as everywhere else.


Also, the younger brother is coming home today. This is also cause to be nervous. Or maybe not. I don't even know.

It's fun! And not as scary as it seems. XD But I went insane my first year and fell on my face my second and I'm not doing it this year officially, because I'm just doing a lot of poking at various writing projects- my fic for apocabigbang, one of my unfinished novely projects, and a rewrite for another. Plus various other stuffs. XD SO YEAH. I'm hoping to get 50,000 words out of all that? Maybe? Although, it almost feels like cheating.

...mostly I just really want to get some kind of writing done, I'm not all that fussed about actually making the word count. Probably at least partly because it seems so far from anything I could reasonably attain. If I make it, cool, if not...well, as long as I can actually start writing on this thing, right?

I know which story it is I want to work on? And I've...sort of got a plot? I know where it begins, anyway, and I have a vague idea where it ends...I think. And I know bits and pieces of the middle stuff.

...it's going to be a lot of rambling. :D

Yay! I'm so glad you decided to give it a go! \o/ Embrace your inner rambling writer, don't worry about it if the characters (or, you know, the entire plot ;) ) wanders off, NaNo is all about the thrill of the journey, not the final, polished destination. :D

You know how I'm so sucky at getting stressed over things, so you'd think this would be my worst nightmare, trying to write 50,000 in 30 days??? O_O But why it worked was because I made it just for me, it's just a fun excuse for me to write anything I want, no matter how silly, no matter if it "wouldn't sell" or if other people would think it was dumb. It's just for me and there's something just SO freeing about that. Do I want to throw in some random ninjas? Done. Random pirates? Check. Random ninja pirates? Ohhhh yeah, baby! \o/ It's allllll good because it's solely for my own amusement. :D

And you might've noticed that it's not too terribly hard for me to ramble... ;) *could probably write 50,000 just in a comment if LJ would let me* *blush* ;)

I've made up my mind not to get too fussed about word count. My goal is just to write. To actually get some story down on paper.

On the other hand, if I hit 50,000 words, well...I'd kind of be the happiest Chica ever, wouldn't I?
